Republican Sen. Tom Cotton calls for Insurrection Act for America

1st June, 2020: Republican Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, called for the use of military force against the George Floyd Protestors demanding civic rights for all Americans.

Cotton made his stance clear on his official twitter saying the protests are carried out by rioters and looters who are a threat to national security.

The call for military shootout against American citizens created a larger gap between the government and the protesters who were already angered by Donald Trump’s stance over the #BlackLivesMatter protests.

For now, Military police is on alert in Minnesota and protests go violent and stronger. Many have come out in the favor of Insurrection act claiming it might bethe last thing to calm down the falling state of affairs.

By definition, the Insurrection Act of 1807 is a federal law (10 U.S.C §§ 251–255)  that governs the ability of the President of the United States to deploy military troops within the United States to put down lawlessness, insurrection, and rebellion.
