Experts Claim Prince William has forgiven his father Prince Charles.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated Fathers Day by sharing an unseen photo of Prince Williams with his Father, Prince Charles. The Royal Couple shared the picture of Two Future Kings at social media on Sunday.
Kate Middleton took the photo at the royal family’s Sandringham Estate, where they spent the Christmas holidays in December 2019. A photo of Kate Middleton was also shared from her childhood with her own Father.
The rare candid picture showed 38 year old Prince William hugging his 71 year old father Prince Charles. The picture signifies the recent closeness between the father and son. Camilla Tominey, A Royal Expert, marks this photo as another significant milestone in a father-son relationship that was never easy from the start.
Writing in Daily Telegraph she said, “Now a father-of-three in his late thirties, with Charles willingly playing the role of doting grandfather, there is a sense that William has not only forgiven him for the mistakes of the past, but also woken up to the fact his father has been as much of a positive influence as Diana, the late Princess of Wales.”
In 2017, the world mourned Princess Diana on her 20th Death Anniversary. Although Prince William refused to pay tribute to his father during the screening of a documentary based on Princess Diana. He was unwilling to acknowledge the role of his father in his upbringing after death of Diana.
However in a BBC documentary in 2019, Prince Williams payed tribute to his father Prince Charles on his 70th birthday and admitted he’d love him to be able to spend more time with his grandchildren. He said, “I think now he’s reached his 70th year, it’s a perfect time to consolidate a little bit because, as most families would do, you are worried about having them around and making sure their health is okay.”
Camilla Tominey highlighted how different the relationship between Prince William and Charles is now compared to what it was 3 years ago, when the world mourned Princess Diana on her 20th Death Anniversary.
This year Fathers Day was more significant for Prince William as it fell on the same day as his 38th Birthday. To Celebrate it The Royal Couple also shared a group photo of Prince Williams with his three children.
However a royal expert Katie Nicholl claimed that Prince William would be ‘upset’ at not being able to see his extended family on his birthday due to Covid-19 concerns.
